To: Friends of the World Famous Blue Crab Festival

It is with great pleasure that the Committee of the World Famous Blue Crab Festival, announces that it will be held, as traditionally scheduled on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th, 2012, as it is every year, on the beautiful waterfront in the quaint community of Little River, South Carolina.
An organizational meeting was held on Saturday at the C.B. Berry Building in Little River, organized by Councilmen Harold Worley and Paul Prince. The packed room consisted of interested business owners, residents and community leaders. It was unanimously agreed that the 31st Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival will be held on the traditional weekend following Mother's Day in May. Festival/event specialist and prior committee member, Tracie Waller, has been designated the Festival Executive Director. Veteran festival organizer, Hubert Bullard, will be responsible for vendor recruitment and coordination.
It was also decided at the meeting that the Festival will be represented by a committee comprised of waterfront businesses, residents, community business leaders, as well as representatives from the Little River Chamber of Commerce. In attendance at the meeting were:

"The Blue Crab Festival belongs to the people of this great Community. You have spoken, we listened, and the festival will continue for its 31st year," said Horry County Councilman, Harold Worley at Saturday's meeting. He continued, by stating, "The purpose of this festival is and will continue to be, one that supports and showcases the fabulous atmosphere of the local Little River Community, North Myrtle Beach and the entire Grand Strand area."
The efforts of the committee, the festival organizers, volunteers and absolute support of the entire Horry County personnel, will ensure that this year's festival will be as spectacular as years past. We have confirmed vendors- specializing in unique arts and crafts, businesses showcasing their wares, community organizations, children's activities, fantastic entertainment and of course, delicious food.
We encourage you to be a part of this tradition, and join us for our 31st Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival, on the Waterfront in Little River on May 19th and 20th, 2012.
